The “Tale as Old as Time” Comes to Aurora
I may be an adult now, but I love Disney films. There’s just something so magical about their immersive storytelling, their beautiful animation styles, and the sheer amount of creativity and effort that every member puts into nearly every movie they produce. Everyone has a different favorite that they watch, such as The Lion King, Cinderella, Mulan, Frozen, the list goes on and on…My personal favorite happens to be Beauty and the Beast. One of the greatest love stories that has ever been created at all, let alone by Disney, its memorable characters, heartfelt message and theme, and amazing music will keep its timelessness for many years to come. For those who share my sentiment, some great news: the Vintage Theatre in Aurora, Colorado, just east of Denver, will be presenting Beauty and the Beast on their stage, and the upcoming Alexan West Highland apartments allow theater fans to enjoy all their performances from just a 25 minute drive.
The Vintage Theatre is a small performance group and venue that started in 2002, and has since blossomed into an award winning company. Featuring local talents from across the state, the theater presents a wide assortment of plays and musicals, from the kid friendly to the mature themed, the traditional classics to the modern pieces, the original works and the adaptations; overall, there’s always something for every person’s tastes going through.
From November 25th to January 8th, the Vintage Theatre will be presenting the Broadway musical edition of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, the timeless story about a prince that is turned into a hideous monster by enchantress due to his selfishness, and thus is made to learn about love and compassion through Belle, a kind, intelligent girl from a nearby village whom stays on her father’s behalf after he’s caught for trespassing; it’s a perfect story for families of all ages. Tickets are available for pre-purchase on their website ranging from $22-31, depending on the preference of seating, with a special matinee pricing of $16 on Mon, Dec 5th. Shows are often at 7:30p on weekends or 2:30p on Sundays.
Be our guest! Visit the Vintage Theater this winter and come see Beauty and the Beast, and then don’t miss out on the chance to see more great plays and musicals when you choose to move to Alexan West Highland Apartments on March 2017.
