The Millennium Falcon will land in Denver!
Do you love Star Wars? It’s personally one of my favorite movie series of all time: every single film offers a unique, fun experience, and sometimes even gives spine tingling, breathtaking moments. It’s action, science fiction, comedy, romance, tragedy; it’s an epic saga that will likely be remembered for years and years to come, especially with its current revival by the works of Disney. So naturally, any die hard Star Wars fan, like me, would be over-ecstatic to hear that the Denver Art Museum will be having a Star Wars themed exhibition. The best part is that, if you choose to move to Alexan West Highland apartments when they begin to lease next year, you’ll get access to the Denver Art Museum and all kinds of amazing events within just a few minutes’ drive!
Star Wars and the Power of Costume: is an art exhibit coming to the Denver Art Museum in November that focuses on up to seventy different costumes and concept art from all seven films – from The Phantom Menace to The Force Awakens – and includes audio and video commentary on how each piece was made in the eyes of director George Lucas and various costume designers who worked on the film. Visitors can learn the historical or cultural backgrounds come into play with every costume, take pictures of their favorite heroes or villains on display, or even come into costume themselves (though, sadly, lightsabers are not allowed.)It’s a great opportunity for any Star Wars fan to study more about their beloved franchise and to admire the hard work and dedication put into every costume upon making the entire saga. Regular admission for a timed tour is $28 for adults, $5 for kids between ages six and eighteen, and free for any younger child. Denver Art Museum members get an even greater deal, for adult admission is decreased to only $18, and everyone else gets free admission. Living at Alexan West Highland makes the museum much easier to get to: a normal drive only takes about twelve minutes, or there’s a nearby bus stop to take you straight to the Denver Art Museum without wasting time on parking or money on gas. Art connoisseurs no longer need to worry about living too far from amazing art collections.
So get ready to jump to light speed, and visit the Denver Art Museum in November for Star Wars and the Power of Costume, and then stop by Alexan West Highland to make your stay in Denver permanent and enrich your lifestyle. May the Force be with you!
