What do you think of when October rolls around? Oktoberfest perhaps? Well grab your lederhosen and your bier stein and head on over to St. Dominic Parish (just a mile away) for your taste of Germany. Local micro-breweries include Call to Arms Brewing Company, Diebolt Brewing, Factotum Brew House, Goldspot Brewing Company, Joyride Brewing and Little Machine. Sample German sausages from Prosit, try a specialty hot dog from Mambo Dogs Express or enjoy some sweets from The Noshery. Jim Ehrlich and the Polka Mates kick off the live music line-up followed by Isavella Daily and Josh Moorehead & The Guestlist. Jimmy Trujillo Band featuring The Mood Express headlines the event. Check out the silent auction with over 50 items to bid on, and kids will enjoy the kid zone.
Urban Party Adventure presents Crazy Hats & Fancy Shoes a scavenger hunt/bar crawl. Bring up to four of your friends to Vita, less than two miles away, to get your custom check list. Past list items include hugging a bearded man, taking a body shot off of a stranger and smacking the backside of a statue. Your team will have three hours to complete the list and return to Vita for the awards ceremony. So, pull out your craziest hat and fanciest pair of shoes. A portion of the admission goes to Heavenly Hats Foundation, which donates hats to patients who have suffered hair loss.
